My Last Year Wearing This Uniform
Today was my first day of school. It lasted only an hour and a half, the first quarter of which teachers imparted the changes made to the school administration during our absence. We students had already received our schedules and agendas during the summer, so in the time that remained, we confabulated about "stimulating" topics (like who had lost weight over the break). If there was anything notable that happened today, it was the fact our teacher dismissed us five minutes early (my mentor* teacher is known for following rules scrupulously), an action for which we were all grateful .
Considering it is my last year in school, there are many major events I will have to look forward to. Senior year will no doubt be fraught with work, suspense, excitement and, hopefully, celebration. With such a diverse mix of elements, I am not sure whether to rejoice or lament over the fact I am on the brink of leaving high school (so close!). All I ask for this school year is good grades without my sleep or healthy being compromised; all of which would enable me to go to my university of choice. I think I've already shown my eagerness by getting rid of all my social networking profiles; I know abstaining from them will be worth it anyways. By the way, please admonish me if you ever catch me on Twitter or Instagram.
To conclude this blog post, I wish anyone starting school today every success in their scholastic endeavors this year, particularly those in the twelfth grade like me.
